Gramasabha/Wardsabha
Local Development Through Public Participation
A Grama Sabha consists of all persons whose names are included in the electoral roll of a village within the territorial area of a Grama Panchayat. Similarly, all voters whose names are included in the electoral roll of a particular ward are members of the Ward Sabha.
The Grama Sabha and Ward Sabha are important platforms for planning, implementing and evaluating local development activities through the direct participation of citizens.

If a meeting is adjourned due to lack of quorum, 50 members shall constitute the quorum when the adjourned meeting is reconvened, subject to the applicable rules.
📝 Special Meeting
If 10% of the total voters of a ward submit a written request, a special Grama Sabha/Ward Sabha meeting shall be convened within 15 days.
This provides citizens with an opportunity to discuss matters of urgent local importance.
🤝 Coordinator
An officer designated by the Grama Panchayat/Municipality acts as the Coordinator and provides necessary assistance to the Convenor in conducting the activities of the Grama Sabha/Ward Sabha.
